Hello.

I have successfully got my openpcd working now. Thanks for the nice
support. Here is my success report.

After following these steps:
> 1. unplug the USB cable and insert the SAM-BA jumper (Pin 1.2)
> 2. attach the USB cable
> 3. wait ten seconds
> 4. unplug the USB cable
> 5. remove the SAM-BA jumper
> 6. attach the USB cable
> 7. wait several seconds to allow the device to be detected by Linux

the device showed up properly in lsusb:
Bus 006 Device 006: ID 03eb:6124 Atmel Corp. at91sam SAMBA bootloader

I then flashed the main_dumbreader.samba image that Milosch sent me in
response to my first email to this list with sam7. After this, the
Reader showed up in lsusb:
Bus 006 Device 010: ID 16c0:076b VOTI OpenPCD 13.56MHz RFID Reader

Also, opcd_test, i.e. switching LEDs off and on and getting the serial
worked fine.

However, librfid-tool (the svn trunk version) did not recognize the
openpcd. I also tried to flash the dumbreader.samba image from
http://people.openpcd.org/laforge/releases/openpcd/262/dumbreader.samba
with the same result.

Then I followed the steps on
http://wiki.openpcd.org/wiki/Firmware#Compilation_environment
checked out the exact known good versions (-r 1999 for librfid and -r
314 for the firmware) and compiled them. I had to install some
dependiencies and libraries for the compile process to run through.
After flashing the compiled image, the compiled librfid (r1999) works
now. Don't forget to run librfid-tool as root ;-) I still have to try if
librfid r1999 also works with the other firmware images.

Thanks for the friendly support. Best regards.
