openpcd green LED flashing?

My new openpcd reader arrived today, thanks Brita!  It is v0.4
with a white sticker reading '288339'.  I tried to follow
http://wiki.openpcd.org/wiki/Getting_started, but before I get in to
details, can I check something basic?  The wiki says: ``The red LED
should light up as soon as the USB cable is attached'' which it does,
but the wiki makes no mention of the green LED, which I therefore assume
should be off---but my green LED flashes at about 2Hz.  Is this normal?

The device shows up as a USB device 16c0:076b and I can
use 'host/opcd_test -l 2 0' to turn off the red LED, but
'librfid/utils/librfid-tool -s' says:

Any suggestions what I should try next?
